Kat Sherman

Kathryn (Kat) Sherman is a jazz vocalist, composer, arranger, and teaching artist based in Chicago. She has released recordings with jazz bassist Hannah Marks (Alone Together) and math rock band Giraffe House (Passenger, Leafy Greens, Toxic, Folding Chair Fathers), and is releasing a jazz quartet album in Fall 2026. Her compositions and arrangements have been performed by ensembles across the United States and Australia by award-winning vocal jazz and show choir programs, and in 2025, Kat was commissioned by the Jazz Education Network to compose a piece to be premiered at their 2026 conference. A dedicated educator, Kat is passionate about building an inclusive learning environment, where she helps all students build a diverse set of skills to prepare them for a wide variety of future career opportunities.
