Beginner Music Classes
Is your young musician eager to try a new instrument or explore music for the first time? Merit’s beginner-friendly classes are the perfect way to introduce students to the joy of music in a fun and exciting way! These programs help young learners build their musical abilities while connecting with peers and learning from some of Chicago’s top music teachers.
Not sure if you’re ready to sign up for a full year class? Our 10-week mini sessions are the perfect way for kids to explore guitar, piano, and violin in a fun and supportive setting. With a shorter timeframe and beginner-friendly approach, students gain a solid start and experience the joy of making music right away. Please note: these mini sessions will be available again in the fall!

Free Workshop for Beginners
Our fun (and FREE!) Instrument Exploration Workshop gives young music lovers a chance to explore a variety of instruments through hands-on demonstrations with Merit students and staff.
At the end of the workshop, your child can choose their favorite instrument and reserve a spot in upcoming programming.
