Bio:
From the Chicago area, Jessica Hudson began her cello studies at the age of 9 through the Music Institute of Chicago with Gilda Barston and Horacio Contreras, continuing her education at DePaul University with Brant Taylor. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she returned to her Suzuki roots, and became a registered Suzuki teacher under the training of Sally Gross, the Cello Director at the Western Springs School of Talent Education and the Naperville Suzuki School. Jessica currently teaches private lessons at the Music Institute of Chicago. She also performs in community orchestras, musical productions, and records with Chicago artists. Jessica credits her musical journey to the teachers and colleagues who have strongly influenced and supported her perpetual love of sharing the joy of playing the cello.
Favorite Musicians:
I love listening to Beethoven 7, chamber works by Brahms, and various works by Amy Beach. Outside of classical, I love listening to Yebba and Nick Hakim.
