Professional development includes Orff and Kodaly Level I, Dalcroze, World Music Pedagogy – Smithsonian Folkways Certification, and Montessori Assistant Training.
Bio:
Brigid Finucane, writer, educator, and visual artist, has worked as an early childhood music teacher since 1995 while continuing her lifelong research into cross-cultural music, dances, and music and literacy for the early childhood classroom. Her primary objective is to share the joy of singing and music making, while helping others become confident, creative musical beings. When not musicing, she loves traveling with her husband, playing with her rescue cat, Annie, and working as an Illinois Master Gardener.
Favorite Musicians:
The Kiffness is a favorite contemporary musician, but Pete Seeger continues to thrill as a lifelong inspration as a music researcher and someone who brought people together to sing as a community with joy and commitment, while remaining totally humble.
