Bio:
Julia Koehler is a Chicago-based violinist and dedicated teacher with a passion for both performance and education. As an active performer, Julia collaborates with orchestras across the Midwest, including the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, Quad City Symphony Orchestra, and Peoria Symphony Orchestra, sharing her artistry with diverse audiences. Originally from Eagle River, Alaska, Julia’s musical journey led her to the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, where she graduated from high school before pursuing further studies at Indiana University. There, she studied string pedagogy under the guidance of renowned pedagog Mimi Zweig, while also assistant teaching at the Indiana University String Academy. Julia also maintained a private studio during her time at IU, teaching and mentoring students of all ages and levels. Julia received her Suzuki Certification through her graduate studies at Roosevelt University, enhancing her ability to teach and inspire young violinists through the Suzuki method. A committed educator, Julia is deeply passionate about helping her students grow both musically and personally. She believes in fostering a love for the violin and using music to inspire confidence, discipline, and creativity. Through her teaching, Julia strives to make a positive, lasting impact on her students’ lives.
