Education:
I hold masters degrees in Early music performance practice, masters in education with bilingual and ESL endorsements and I am a fully certified music teacher in Illinois (professional licensure).
Bio:
I have degrees in Music Education (Colombia). I combined my teaching with other professional activities. Those include arrangements for the Colombian Symphony Orchestra on the project Carranga Sinfónica ( “La Gallina Mellicera,” “Lero Lero Candelero”) and collaborations with various organizations. and Performance Practice (US).I recorded and toured Colombia for 5 years with the professional band Velosa y Los Carrangueros, as guitar player and co-arranger. Upon completion of my graduate studies in the US I worked full-time for the Cicero Public Schools for 23 years; 20 of those as music teacher K-6th.
Favorite Musician or Song:
Los Sabores del porro by Pablo Flores. This song describes very accurately the feelings of a group o people that live in northern Colombia.
