Bio:
Frances Kennedy is the Early Childhood and General Music Program Manager at Merit School of Music. A native of Chicago, Frances graduated with honors from the University of Mary earning a degree in music with an emphasis in early childhood education and a minor in special education. She completed her Music Together training during summer 2022 and is experienced in both the Orff and Kodaly methods of elementary music education. As a trained classical pianist, Frances has worked with Rick Ferguson, Michael Langer, Tiantian Liang and is currently studying with Jeff Panko and Mary Sauer, former principal pianist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. With experience in teaching private lessons for all ages and early childhood group classes, Frances believes music is a means of universal teaching and can bring beauty and joy to children’s minds and hearts.
