Bio:
Mr. David Allie retired from Memorial Jr. High School in Lansing, Illinois in 2013 after 36 years as band director. He joined Merit School of Music as a teacher in 2014.
Through Merit School of Music, Mr. Allie works with Books, Brushes, and Bands for Education in Hammond, Indiana as band director of the Midwest Youth Bands and at Rachel Carson Elementary School, located in Chicago’s Southwest side, as band director. Mr. Allie also enjoys directing the Concert Band and Jazz Band in Merit’s Alice S. Pfaelzer Tuition-Free Conservatory.
Favorite Musician:
My favorite musician is Wynton Marsalis who is an American virtuoso trumpeter, composer, teacher, and artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
