Bio:

Jade J. Maze is an author, singer, composer, and educator. Born in Minnesota and raised in California, She was a runaway at the age of fifteen. After spending many years as an internationally touring singer (jazz and pop), Ms. Maze doubled back to get her GED and went on to graduate with honors in her undergrad and graduate college career. She has an MM in classical vocal performance from Northwestern University. Maze received the 2016 Clementine Skinner award for her contributions as a singer and educator to the black music culture in Chicago.

Her memoir Walk Until Sunrise, which recalls her runaway experience, has been described as “a literary tour de force” (Reader’s Favorite) and “a stunning memoir of loss and redemption” (The BookLife Prize).
