University of Michigan, BA, Music & Business Administration Minor
Jeremiah Price manages all things band at Merit School of Music. He comes from Park Forest, Illinois where he was first introduced to music through piano lessons at age 5. Over the years, he’s picked up the trumpet as his primary instrument, French horn, and a touch of electric bass. As a jazz lover, Jeremiah has played in many jazz groups, including the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic Youth Ensemble, the Griffin Institute of Performing Arts Jazz Combo, and the Campus Jazz Ensemble at the University of Michigan. Now, he uses his skills, knowledge, and desire for involvement in music education to help keep the band program running at Merit. Outside of music and work, Jeremiah loves to stay active, spend time with family and friends, and seek out new experiences.
“Music education provides another avenue of study for children and adults who really love music and want to make a difference through music, whether it’s playing for the enjoyment of others or using music as a part of therapy. Merit is special because of its mission to eliminate barriers for children who may not have the resources to access high-quality music education, and also because of the diverse and welcoming environment that fosters growth and collaboration amongst everyone involved.”
