Merit School of Music’s The Purple Hippopotami Quartet appeared on From the Top’s “Blanket Fort Show” airing the week of April 27, 2020.
The Purple Hippopotami Quartet consists of flutists: Natalia Kozintseva (flute), 17, from Whitney M. Young Magnet High School Chicago; Katherine Chen (flute), 15, Whitney M. Young Magnet High School Chicago; Nina Touboul, 16, from the Chicago High School for the Arts; and Emma Krause, 18, from Downers Grove North High School. They are coached by Merit School of Music’s Elizabeth Ko. They were 3rd place winners at Junior Winds Division of M-Prize Chamber Music Competition in 2018.
