Jade Garcia is an administrator who strives for an emphasis on thoughtfulness and connection in all that she does. Always enthusiastic about making new discoveries, she has gained performance experience as an orchestral and chamber musician and has simultaneously worked to build her skills to effectively administrate arts education. Eager to contribute to a shift away from the lack of representation in classical music, Jade became a part of the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative (CMPI) as a Student Navigator shortly after graduation. She works closely with students to advise them through their studies of music, and advocates for musicians from underrepresented backgrounds through all levels of education and professional careers. Now promoted to be the Community Manager of CMPI her work focuses on building a supportive network for CMPI fellows and their families, strengthening the bonds of our community.
My favorite musician is SZA! I love the variety of her music, and I find that it sometimes even influences my classical clarinet playing.
