COVID-19 Updates & Information

Staying safe and
making music at Merit

At Merit, your health & safety are our priority. We’ve instituted strict rules and safety guidelines for keeping our community safe during in-person music making.

We intend to deliver all scheduled in-person instruction in accordance with current safety best practices. To that end, we will continue monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and updating our policies, procedures, and protocols according to the latest public health guidance.

COVID Protocol Updates

Merit has moved to masks recommended for all visitors. Proof of vaccination is no longer required.

Please note: Merit’s COVID safety team will continue to monitor conditions & could make the decision to return to more conservative COVID mitigation measures if & when deemed necessary.

HOW WE’RE STAYING SAFE

We’re doing everything possible to keep you safe and healthy! Read about the steps we’re taking.

Following CDC guidelines

We’re on top of it. Merit’s cross-departmental Policy & Safety Teams meet weekly to review new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and respond to potential active spread.

Keeping our building safe & clean

  • Our upgraded HVAC system increases air circulation throughout the building and introduces more fresh outdoor air.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are offered throughout our building.

Instituting staff & faculty vaccination requirements

All Merit faculty and staff are required to be fully-vaccinated*.

*Except for employees who are exempt for medical or religious reasons.
