University of Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music, Master's Degree in Clarinet Performance
Emory Freeman comes to Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative (CMPI) from the University of Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where he completed his master’s degree in clarinet performance and was a Yates Fellow. While at CCM, Emory also served as the Treasurer of the UC-CCM Black Student Association and was an IDEA Committee Member for the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. As a clarinetist, he has served as Principal Clarinet of the CCM Philharmonia Orchestra, and won the May 2021 United States Air Force Heritage Band of America clarinet audition.
Emory brings strong musical and administrative experience to CMPI, as well as a passion for creating equity in classical music.
