North Central College, BA, Music Performance (Flute & Piccolo) & Spanish Minor

BIO:

Darcy Tecalero is a Student Services Associate at Merit School of Music. A Merit alum, Darcy began her flute studies here with Alicia Poot Kelley, Betsy Ko, and Susan Crandall from a young age until she graduated from Merit’s Conservatory in 2017. Along with the flute and piccolo, Darcy has also studied guitar and piano at Merit.

While at North Central College, she continued her flute studies with Marie Bennett and was a member of various band ensembles and chamber ensembles, including serving as Principal Flutist for North Central’s Chamber Orchestra, along with other leadership positions during her time at North Central. Outside of college, Darcy attended or participated in masterclasses, private lessons, and events with Mariana Gariazzo, Sir James Galway, Timothy Hagen, Denis Bouriakov, Stefán Ragnar Höskuldsson, and Demarre McGill. She is currently planning on attending another college/university in Chicago to pursue a degree in Music Education. Outside of music, she enjoys painting, going to SoulCycle, traveling, and spending time with her family and her dog Thelma.
