Charles Taylor is a native Chicagoan and an active performer, educator, concert producer, and recording studio owner. A graduate of the Northwestern University School of Music, Charles has toured and produced nationally in various genres—from world music and jazz, to opera and sacred concerts. Charles is a conductor and member of the Voice Faculty for Merit School of Music and debuted as the Conductor of the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic Orchestra Youth Vocal Ensemble at Millennium Park in a tribute concert for the late Nelson Mandela. He is currently working on a pilot for a children’s music education show, as well as a recording of original children’s music entitled “It’s About Me”.
“I believe one of the most important aspects of Merit is the commitment to not only support their students musically but to help create an equitable environment for all students.”
