Gnessin Academy, Moscow
Master & Doctor, Piano Performance, Chamber Music & Music Pedagogy

I immigrated to the United States in 1992 and became a U.S. citizen on June 26th, 2001. Since then, I’ve been teaching and performing extensively throughout the Chicago area.

My students not only have won numerous piano competitions, but have also performed with Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. At the Grand Opening celebration for the new building housing Merit School of Music, three of my students performed a Smetana sonata for two pianos and four hands with Emanuel Ax.

It is fulfilling to share my experiences with students and to help them realize their full musical potential. I have a desire to teach all I know; even though, for me, the learning process continues with every lesson; and with every student.

I think that a piano teacher must be a teacher of music first. One of the most important conditions for fruitful teaching is to have the fullest possible understanding between the student and parents. I try to teach my students to make their own musical decisions.
