Merit School of Music and the Joy Faith Knapp Music Center can help you hit just the right note for your event, performance or meeting. Our versatile West Loop building offers a wide range of space rental options to accommodate performances, rehearsals, receptions, lectures, meetings and other events, as well as small rooms designed for musical rehearsal for small groups or practice for individuals.

Gottlieb Hall provides a stunning setting for musical/stage performances, lectures, recordings, auditions – any event where stellar acoustics are important to the success of your event. Designed especially for classical acoustic chamber music, the hall seats up to 350 people with options for using Merit’s facilities crew and house managers, and includes access to backstage storage areas, green room and a Steinway D piano.

Foreman Hall and Polk Bros. Hall are ideal for smaller events (90 – 130), and deliver high sound quality for recitals, rehearsals, lectures, meetings and other events, with conference phones and A/V available. Smaller meeting rooms and rehearsal and practice space are available to accommodate groups of 1 – 30.

All events held at Merit enjoy the benefit of visibility and signage in the front lobby and the support of Merit, ensuring a welcoming and helpful environment for your guests. Merit is a short distance from downtown suburban commuter stations and CTA trains and buses, making it a convenient destination for anyone in the Chicago metro area.
