Description

Tuition-free for current Conservatory students registered for the 2017-2018 year.

GRADES: 7th-12th
+Minimum of two years playing experience required

Current Merit Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band students in the Alice S. Pfaelzer Tuition-free Conservatory are encouraged to participate in this 6-week summer session. Final concerts will take place in August, dates and locations to be announced at a later date.

Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band is an advanced wind group. It is comprised of up to 80 wind, brass and percussion students who are generally in 8th-10th grades. Programming consists of challenging high-school repertoire.

Wind Symphony
The Wind Symphony is one of Merit's premiere ensembles. The Wind Symphony provides a consummate experience for talented and motivated young musicians, representing some of the finest wind playing in the country. It is comprised of up to 80 wind, brass and percussion students who are generally in 10th-12th grades. Programming consists of new commissions, and modern and traditional repertoire.

Classes meet Tuesday-Thursday evenings from June 27- August 8 (6 weeks), 6-8pm
