Ensemble Director: Cherub Orchestra, Merit Music in Communities; Violin Private Lessons Instructor

Bio:

Kristin Cappelli-Hedlund is a graduate of Indiana University Jacob’s School of Music, where she was a student of Josef Gingold and Yuval Yaron.

Ms. Hedlund is a past fellow in violin at the Tanglewood Festival, The Chautauqua Festival and the Grand Teton Festival orchestras. She has performed professionally with the Kammerguild Chamber Orchestra, The Houston Ballet, The ABT Ballet, The Illinois Philharmonic, The Northwest Indiana Symphony, and the Chicago Piano Trio.

She is a past winner of the Society of American Musicians competition, Indiana University school of music Scholarship program and the MacDowell Artist’s competition.

Cappelli-Hedlund has maintained a large class of violin and viola students throughout her career. Many of her former students have pursued careers in music as University professors, Symphony orchestra violinist’s, High School orchestra teachers and professional chamber music members.

In addition to her work at the Merit School of Music, Ms. Cappelli-Hedlund is a faculty member at Dominican University and a board member of the Corde Volanti Chamber Ensemble.
